At 6:00 PM this Thursday the University of the Southwest will host our one and only annual fundraiser, AKA the Free Enterprise Dinner. This signature event will feature good music (provided by guitarist Arnold Cardon), good food, and an off-campus location that is easily accessible (the Lea County Event Center Banquet Hall). New this year we also will have a silent auction with 32 items, a few more notable items that will be sold live to the highest bidder, door prizes, and a wine bar for patrons interested and old enough to purchase drinks. I’m a day late on posting this blog. But then I am a day later than I had planned for getting back from our Accreditation group’s national conference that is held every year in Chicago. So, I guess maybe better late than never, right?
In today’s blog I want to highlight some significant student accomplishments and I have relied on our new Assistant Athletic Director, Dana Lambert, to help me disseminate accurate information (thank you Dana!). But before I get started with that, I wanted to mention one student in particular who is outstanding for more than just his athletic ability.
I am often inspired by hearing my wife’s sermons on Sunday mornings and yesterday was one of those times. Of course I also was listening a bit more closely because she mentioned my name in her sermon and I knew I was about to be embarrassed.
