There’s an old saying about location being the top 3 factors that influence the selling of a house. Well, I think the same applies for matching someone’s employment prospects with how well they will perform the work that they feel called to do. At least that is my takeaway from the NetVUE conference that Arts & Science Dean Elyn Palmer, Campus Chaplain and Christian Studies Professor Danny Kirkpatrick, and I attended last week in Charlotte, NC while nearly everyone else was out on Spring Break.

An Evening with Malcolm Gladwell and Great Expectations

In between my wife throwing out the first pitch before last Friday’s softball series with Our Lady of the Lake University and me throwing out the first pitch earlier today before we took the field to play Sul Ross State, I had a chance to listen to one of Malcolm Gladwell’s podcasts on revisionist history. Jennifer Grassham at the J.F Maddox Foundation recommended this one in particular and it proved fascinating. It also greatly raised my already high interest in hearing Mr. Gladwell speak at Tydings Auditorium on April 18th.
