Transitions Abound as the Fall Term Approaches

Approximately 150 first-time students will be welcomed to campus on Friday to attend Orientation for “new arrivals.” Included here are freshmen who recently graduated from high school, transfer students from other colleges and universities, and junior college transfers who are here to complete a four-year degree plan. An outdoor BBQ picnic in front of the Maddox Student Life Center will be held at the end of the day for first-time students and their families, compliments of area churches that have donated all the food for the cookout. Ninety and Counting

Last Saturday USW’s Early Fall Orientation Team led by Dr. Larry Guerrero and comprised of staff members from Financial Aid, the Business Office, and Academic Affairs spent the day welcoming early fall athletes to campus. USW representatives were on hand to check-in more than 90 scholar-athletes, nearly one-quarter of the number of face-to-face undergraduate students who will make up the local, full-time fall population of Hobbs residents beginning the new school year on August 20th.
