Stewart Sroufe stopped by our table yesterday when Caryn and I were having lunch in Cattle Baron’s to say thank you for supporting last week’s Magic Show fundraiser for PDAP and Hobbs Habitat for Humanity. Athletic Accolades, Announcements, and Awards

As we approach the end of the academic year, several noteworthy achievements and announcements are in order. First, let’s start with some very recent and spectacular accomplishments. Last week the USW Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Teams both won their respective Red River Athletic 2019 Conference Championships, bringing the total number of conference champions USW has earned this academic year to three, following from the Women’s Conference Championship awarded to the USW Women’s Cross Country Team last fall. Accordingly, it should come as no surprise that the Red River Athletic Conference named USW Coach Jessica Becker as RRAC Track and Field Coach of the Year. Read More

Free Enterprise Dinner Features Sports Marketing Guru David Meltzer

On Thursday University of the Southwest will host our Annual Free Enterprise Dinner in the Lea County Event Center beginning at 6PM. Organized by USW’s Coordinator of Marketing, Public Relations & Communications RaeLynn Dunlap, RaeLynn has chosen a Kentucky Derby theme for this year’s dinner. While I am not exactly sure how many dinner guests will don fedoras and race day apparel, it should be a lot of fun. Read More
